By utilizing a biochemical, proteomic approach to identify the mechanism by which 14-3-3σ regulates novel mitotic targets and to determine the relationship of this activity to 14-3-3σ’s tumor suppressor capabilities. In addition, determining the contribution of cap-independent translated transcripts toward cellular checkpoint integrity and the onset of cellular senescence.
