I am broadly interested in developing novel micro-/nanoscale systems that facilitate finer manipulation and measurement of biological objects and processes.

As a graduate student in the Han lab, I am working on applying our groups nanofluidic preconcentrator technology to enchance the sensitivity of enzyme activity assays. Our goal is to develop an assay with a senstivity high enough to directly measure activities of molecules such as kinases from single cells. This could help in providing a clearer picture of the cellular signalling networks and their dynamics as the ensemble averages measured by most traditional methods provide only a ‘blurred’ picture.
